Open Source

Notesetters, Inc. supports the use and development of open-source solutions. Whenever feasible, computerized work is performed using open-source applications running on open-source platforms. PDF output and LilyPond source files are platform independent. LilyPond typesetting is performed the latest LilyPond on a GNU/Linux-based operating system. Currently, Notesetters, Inc. uses Linux Mint 11. Incorporation of scores and music examples into larger projects can be accomplished with Scribus—an open-source desktop publishing program. Invoices and other office-related documents are generated using LibreOffice—an open-source office suite which includes a word-processor, spreadsheet and other essential office programs. KompoZer, an open-source WYSIWYG web page editor, was used to help make this website.
